This reagent was designed to presumptively identify the synthetic methamphetamine methylmethcathinone (4-MMC) also referred to as Mephedrone. A positive result for Mephedrone using this reagent will yield a purple color reaction.
This analog of the original MDPV formulation is not as common, therefore all testing for substances suspected of being “Bath Salts” should begin with the NARK20024 MDPV Reagent. If testing using the MDPV Reagent is negative or inconclusive, move on to the NARK20025 Mephedrone Reagent.
